With the January window fast approaching, more names are being linked with the capital club.
The latest name belongs to Saúl Ñíguez, currently on loan at Chelsea.
According to Il Romanista, the Spaniard’s adventure in the Premier League has been far from satisfying, so much so that some intermediaries are already looking to find him a new team to join.
Saúl is on loan at Chelsea from Atletico Madrid with option to buy set at €40 million. Such figures are out of reach for Roma. However, Il Romanista reports that a scenario involving Saul moving on a six-month loan to the Italian capital should not be ruled out.
The midfielder makes around €3.5 million in wages, but the costs could be split in half between Roma and Atletico.
Moreover, the newspaper reports that Gonzalo Villar has long been on Atletico Madrid’s radar and a deal involving the out-of-favor 23-year-old is still a possibility for January.
