Scans confirm torn meniscus for Marash Kumbulla, season over

RomaPress Staff

Roma have been handed yet another blow on the injury front.

Scans today confirmed that defender Marash Kumbulla suffered a torn meniscus during Thursday’s match between Albania and Andorra. The youngster managed to play all ninety minutes for his country, however, he felt discomfort in the dressing room after the match.

Kumbulla underwent scans this afternoon at Villa Stuart hospital and their worst fears were confirmed. Club doctors confirmed that the defender suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee and will miss the remainder of the season.

Corriere dello Sport has reported that the plan is for Kumbulla to follow a physical therapy regimen rather than undergo surgery. They will, however, reassess his progress in the following weeks.
