Schick: “I want to remain at Roma. I feel good and I want to help the team”.

John Solano

Roma attacker Patrik Schick was interviewed today by Sky Sport ahead of this weekend’s match against Atalanta. These are his words:

Can you take stock of this year and a half in Rome?
There were beautiful moments and difficult moments. I did not arrive in perfect condition and then I was injured for two months. The Champions League and against Barcelona were beautiful moments.

Did you suffer from the pressure?
I do not think so.

Do you notice a change for the better?
Yes, I try to do everything imaginable. I want to help the team, I feel good. When you score, you feel confident and play better.

Can you explain the role of the mental coach?
We’ve only just started working together — I don’t think I’m playing better because of him, but he’s definitely important. Talking with someone who does not just talk about football is good. It’s important to give your all and have a clear mind.

Do you compare yourself with Dzeko?
We know we have not done well so far. We know many of us haven’t done well, but as the attack improves, so will the strikers.

An important message was sent after the win against Toro.
It was a difficult game, I think we improved our mentality and trust.

The opponent who worries you for the Champions League place?
Nobody. If we win every match we won’t have to worry about the others.

Will you stay in Rome?
You (the media) are the ones writing that I’ll leave, I want to remain here.

Do you like this “young” Roma that is being born?
I really like it.
