Schick steps away from Bayer Leverkusen switch

Roma striker Patrik Schick is just steps away from departing the club on a permanent deal in order to join German side Bayer Leverkusen.

Filippo Biafora of Il Tempo has reported that there are just a few details left to sort before the Czech attacker officially joins the Bundesliga outfit following his loan spell this past season at RB Leipzig.

Reportedly, the Giallorossi will earn just under €29 million (including bonuses) from the sale of the former Sampdoria man, who cost Roma a club record €42 million in the summer of 2017.

Schick joined Leipzig last summer on loan with an option to buy, however, Julian Nagelsmann’s side did not exercise the option to make the deal permanent as they deemed the €29 million option too expensive.
