Patrik Schick spoke to present media members while on national team duty with the Czech Republic. These are his words:
Your season with Roma?
Things have not gone as I imagined, but I will prove that I am worthy of Roma, it also doesn’t help I have one of the strongest attackers in the world in front of me, Dzeko, but I will learn everything I can from him, I do not want to leave. Though, it is not easy, everything now depends on me, including how I train so I’m doing everything I can in training. I want to prove I’m worth of Roma. I do not want to go anywhere, we still have a few matches until the end of the season, I want to show some things.
The Champions League quarterfinals?
The quarter-finals against Barcelona are very interesting, it’s nice to be a part of this success, and I can still have the chance to take the pitch, it will depend on how I train.
Your physical problems?
I do not want to make excuses, there are more reasons why the season has not been ideal, at the beginning, there were problems with my heart, and I didn’t have a full summer to prepare, so I entered directly into the season. It was not a perfect start. I believe that when I get some confidence, I will show my worth — I know I have to repay the trust that Roma have given me, I think everything is going in a better direction. Everything moved so fast this summer, I should have started more slowly — I was so excited to get started but my body wasn’t ready.
