Roma legend and former defender and club executive Sebino Nela briefly previewed tomorrow night’s match-up between Roma and Napoli at the Stadio Olimpico in the Italian capital.

Nela touched upon Zaniolo’s role in the game, as well as praised Chris Smalling’s leadership and consistency.

“I think both teams are where they should be in the league table. They’re both very good,” Nela said in an interview with Corriere della Sera. “Roma have the opportunity to get within a point of Napoli.”

“I expect the match to be balanced, tight, not easy for either side. Ultimately, it could be resolved with an episode, that’s why the quality of the players on the pitch can make the difference.”

“Zaniolo? His role will depend on the tactical gameplan and the tactics used as the game progresses. Surely he could come in handy because he knows how to attack the space in front of him.”

“Smalling? He’s been excellent for the past two years. He’s focused, aggressive. He’s Roma’s best defender.”
