Sergio Gomez will not be heading to Roma after all.

The Spanish fullback was recently linked as a potential reinforcement for the Giallorossi.

However, Roma seem to have shifted their attention on other targets as Gomez closes in on a move to Real Sociedad.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, there is already an agreement in place between Real Sociedad and Man City for the 23-year-old’s transfer.

Real Sociedad will purchase Gomez for a package fee of 9 million euros plus a 15% sell-on clause with Man City also keeping a buy-back clause on the Spanish left-back.

Roma, therefore, are officially out of the race.
