Sergio Oliveira after win at Vitesse: “We showed the right attitude.”

Roma midfielder Sergio Oliveira helped Roma secure the win against Vitesse, while simultaneously putting the result at risk by committing two fouls worth a yellow card each.

The Portuguese international spoke to Sky Sport about the conditions of the pitch, the team’s performance and the red card that will force him to miss the return leg at the Stadio Olimpico.

“The pitch wasn’t in good shape, and technically we didn’t have a great match, but we did well and showed the right attitude to bring the result home.”

“As a team we’re working hard each day to get better,” said the 29-year-old. “Our attitude is the right one at the moment. The coach tells us what he wants from us and that helps pave our path.”

When asked about the red card, Oliveira replied, “The red card was unfair, I didn’t touch the opponent. But it doesn’t matter. We take the win home.”
