Sergio Oliveira pens Roma farewell message before joining Galatasaray

Portuguese midfielder Sergio Oliveira is nearing a move to Turkish giants Galatasaray. Thus, ultimately the player will not return to the Italian capital after completing his six-month loan spell and helping Roma win the Conference League trophy.

Oliveira wrote an emotional farewell message on his Instagram page, thanking the club for the opportunity and the fans for their continued support.

“All football clubs are unique, but some have a special place in my heart,” wrote the 30-year-old.

“I would like to thank everyone at Roma , for the opportunity, to have been part of such a great club. For me having the privilege of working closely with Jose Mourinho, playing together with an amazing team of players, being assisted by an incredible staff is something I will never forget.”

“Also, a BIG thank you to all the fans. You have been so passionate and made me feel part of your family since the first minute. Will never forget the final in Tirana and the unique celebrations we have shared together in Roma. Grazie a tutti! DAJE ROMA!”
