Serie A executive administrator Luigi De Siervo addressed Mourinho’s criticism of the league calendar in the aftermath of Roma’s defeat to Inter.
Following last night’s result, Mourinho expressed his frustration with the Serie A schedule which forced Roma to play only two days after their Europa League match with Slavia Praha. Meanwhile, Inter were allowed two additional days of rest.
In a recent public appearance for GR Parlamento, De Siervo responded to the Special One.
“Mourinho’s words? I respect him for what he does for Roma and for football, but his statements sounded like an alibi. Just think of Barcelona who played in the Champions League and then played in the Clasico at 4pm on Saturday.”
“The issue of recovery could not have been managed better, an important match must be played at the peak moment of the weekend.”
