Serie A could be suspended for one month due to Coronavirus outbreak

Both Ansa and La Gazzetta dello Sport have reported that all sporting events in Italy could be halted for the next 30 days due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

Giuseppe Conte, the Prime Minister of Italy, has been presented a proposal from his scientific committee, which recommended suspending all public events, including sporting ones, in Italy for 30 days to avoid the congregation of people in large, public areas.

The hope is that after these 30 days, the spreading of the virus will wane and the risk will be reduced.

The Lega will meet over coming days to find a viable solution after several clubs expressed their frustration following the decision to move the previous match-day to 13 May.
