Serie A matches to be played behind closed doors until 3 April

It was already a rumor that this would be the solution — and now it’s official.

A new government decree was announced late this evening and it calls for all sporting events and competitions to be played behind closed doors until 3 April due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus.

The decree also states that all associations and sport clubs must carry out appropriate check-ups on their staff, players, and managers to ensure no one is showing the symptoms of the virus.

It remains to be seen, though, how the Lega Serie A will alter the league calendar to accommodate last week’s suspended matches.
