Serie A set to resume on 20th June

After being suspended for nearly three months due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Serie A is set to return.

Sky Sport has reported this evening that Italian Minister of Sport, Vincenzo Spadafora, has given the OK for play to resume following a meeting with Italian FA president, Gabriele Gravina, and Serie A chief Paolo Dal Pino.

Spadafora also met with Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte in the last hours as the pair came to the conclusion that the proposed medical protocols provided by the league were sufficient.

“It’s right that football resumes. The scientific committee has given their OK so Serie A will resume on (Saturday) 20th June,” said Spadafora to Calcio e Finanza.
