Sevilla attacker Lucas Ocampos revisited his team’s run in Europe all the way into the Europa League final despite a tumultuous league campaign.

Sitting in the relegation zone at one point, the Spanish side overturned their poor start to the season by climbing the league table before ousting PSV, Fenerbahce, Manchester United, and Juventus in European play.

“At the end of the day, we always knew what we were capable of,” Ocampos told Sevilla’s official website ahead of Wednesday’s final versus Roma in Budapest.

“Many people wanted us to not worry about Europe, and that we focus on the league so we don’t get relegated. The team kept on fighting, did well and has defeated several good teams.”

“Now we have the opportunity to bring a trophy back home, and make the trophy cabinet even bigger. As for the supporters, hopefully they can find the right flights to make it to Budapest.”

“When they are with us, we feel as if we have an extra player. We need them as they need us.”
