Sevilla defender Karim Rekik was complimentary of Roma before the two sides face-off in the Europa League final in Budapest on Wednesday evening.

The Spaniards reached the final despite struggling in La Liga throughout the season, even sitting in the relegation zone at one point. The Dutchman admitted hoisting the Europa League trophy would be an incredible feat for his team after their turbulent campaign.

“We started (the season) very badly,” he told Sevilla’s website. “But we now have the chance to end this season incredibly by winning this cup”.

“They (Roma) are a strong team and have a great manager. We know it’s going to be difficult, but we will give everything we have.”

“The supporters have been incredible this season. We’ll give our all so we can hopefully bring this trophy home with us to Sevilla.”
