Sevilla midfielder and captain Ivan Rakitic spoke ahead of Wednesday night’s Europa League final with Roma.
The former Barcelona man did not shy away from musing a positive conclusion to his side’s European journey.
“We are very happy to play a new final, but we are calm,” Rakitic told UEFA. “Let’s think positive, we will go to Budapest to play the perfect game and bring the trophy home.”
“It’s been a difficult and long season, but the team has always had quality and confidence. With Mendilibar we found lucidity and the results prove this. We talked little and thought about working hard. We believed in this final and we achieved it, we are confident.”
