Clement Lenglet, defender of Sevilla, was interviewed by footmercato.net and was asked about the departure of Monchi:
There is the probable departure of sporting director Monchi for Roma. Could you describe the way he works?
He’s a professional. I was lucky enough to be in touch with him for a while, we first talked when I was 17. He has various cells of high level recruiting. When I was 17, there were at least twenty reports on me. His level is very high and that’s why things have worked out well in Seville.
His departure would be a huge loss to Sevilla?
Yes, of course, because he is one of the best in the world. It would be hard to replace him. But there is a great recruiting cell backing the club with people willing to take over his work. It’d be a shame for someone like him to leave.
