Shakhtar’s Head of Scouting José Boto linked with Roma’s Sporting Director role

After Roma ruled out both Michael Emenalo and Jonas Boldt as candidates for the Sporting Director role, a new name has emerged for the vacancy at the club.

Tuttomercatoweb reports that José Boto, the current Head of Scouting at Shakhtar Donetsk, is an option that the Giallorossi are discussing internally. They admire his ability to eye talent and, reportedly, have already met with Boto in London and Zurich and the parties are expected to meet again in the coming days.

Before joining the Ukrainian side in June of 2018, the Portuguese executive spent 8 years with Benfica and is known for having brought the likes of Jan Oblak, Angel Di Maria, Rodrigo, David Luiz and Axel Witsel.
