Sheriff’s Roberto Bordin previews Roma encounter in Europa League

The manager of Sheriff Tiraspol – Roberto Bordin – spoke ahead of the upcoming Europa League clash with Roma.

In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Bordin expressed all of his admiration for Mourinho’s men.

“Roma are a great team, even if Belotti and El Shaarawy play instead of Lukaku and Dybala, they’re still very good. Let’s not forget that they were finalists in last season’s edition of this tournament.”

“Look at what they did with Empoli. They collected everything they lost along the way against Salernitana and Hellas Verona. They got back their dues. Mou is good for what he gets from the players and gives to them, as a coach and as a human being, always at his best.”

“We can’t try and control possession because they will massacre us. They’re good on counters and despite rotating several players in the line-up, they still have plenty of quality.”

“However, you have to contain them by playing as a team: if you look at Dybala’s goal against Empoli, all it takes is a feint and off you go. We need to cut the passing lanes, because Lukaku is also good at opening up the space for his teammates.”
