Shomurodov & Abraham to start up front vs Genoa

On Friday Roma will assess Pellegrini’s condition and decide whether to risk the captain in the match against Genoa.

Pellegrini has had to forfeit the national team call-up with Italy due to a persisting inflammation in his left knee.

The captain has been undergoing therapy over these last few days and Mourinho is preparing a plan B in case of his absence.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport it is very likely that Shomurodov and Abraham will start against Genoa in the same formation as the one we saw at Venezia.

It remains to be seen whether Mourinho will field Ibanez as a left-back (Matías Viña and Riccardo Calafiori are still out) and play with Cristante as centre-back alongside Gianluca Mancini.
