Sky Sport: Done deal for Fazio to Salernitana

After six years in the Italian capital, Federico Fazio is about to complete a transfer to Salernitana where he will reunite with former Roma director Walter Sabatini – the man responsible for Fazio’s career revival with the Giallorossi starting in 2016.

According to Sky Sport, Fazio is expected to land in Salerno on Thursday morning and undergo his medical with Salernitana.

The 34-year-old centre-back had been excluded from first team training by Jose Mourinho and seemed intent on remaining in the capital until the expiry of his contract in June. Ultimately, Sabatini’s presence at Salernitana played a key role in the deal being completed.
