Roma are closing in on soon-to-be free agent midfielder Houssem Aouar of Lyon.
The Frenchman – who was recently seen in the Italian capital – is reportedly nearing an agreement with the Giallorossi ahead of free agency.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport, Roma have accelerated their pursuit of Aouar in order to beat the competition in the form of Real Betis, Napoli and Eintracht Frankfurt.
The capital club are planning to sign Aouar on a five-year deal until 2028, with medicals set to be scheduled once the contractual details have been finalized.
