Despite the capital club denying such rumors, Sky Sport insists Roma are interested in Raphael Varane.
The French defender is the primary target for newly promoted Serie A side Como whose Indonesian owners recently met with the player and his agent.
Varane has spent the last couple of days in Italy and is set to meet with Como coach Cesc Fabregas to discuss the team’s project.
However, Sky Sport insists that Roma – in spite of their denials – is aware of Varane’s whereabouts in Italy and could soon take important steps in opening talks with the ex-Real Madrid centreback.
At the moment, Como are still leading the race but Roma are not trailing too far behind.
