Corriere dello Sport has reported that Roma boss Paulo Fonseca will not heavily turnover his side from the one that defeated Sassuolo at the weekend for tomorrow’s match against Istanbul Basaksehir.
The Portuguese manager wants those in his team to find continuity and given it’s still early in the season, there’s not the need to have certain players rest. The ones who will surely start from the first minute seem to be Nicolo Zaniolo and Leonardo Spinazzola. Nikola Kalinic is likely to start from the bench as he still needs to get into his best physical condition.
In defence, Chris Smalling will once again be held out due to precautionary measures so it’s possible Juan Jesus plays in place of one between Fazio and Mancini. However, it’s also possible Fonseca uses the duo again so they can continue to grow together.
In midfield, Jordan Veretout could feature again while Javier Pastore is likely to get the nod in the playmaker role. To date, though, the Argentine has really disappointed Fonseca and hasn’t lived up to his expectations.
