Smalling cites Roma’s growth this season after Toro win

Roma defender Chris Smalling praised his side’s growth following after they defeated Torino this evening in the Italian capital by a score of 3-1.

The win lifted Roma info the fourth position of the Serie A table, four points behind league leaders Milan.

“Our team had a bit of revolution, a lot changed and this has led to a positive effect,” explained the English to Sky Sport and Roma TV.

“We have a lot more belief this year as opposed to last year and we’ve gotten to know each other better.”

He continued, “We saw yesterday’s results and knew that this was a chance for us to bridge the gap on the teams above us in the table. I’m glad to finally be over my injury so that I can help the team.”

“Top four remains our goal but we’re not going to limit ourselves. We’re going to fight to get to the top.”
