Roma defender Chris Smalling spoke briefly to DAZN before his side kick-off this evening against Torino at the Stadio Olimpico.
The Englishman discussed the Giallorossi’s switch from a four-man to a three-man defence earlier this month. The veteran will make his first league start in the new set-up following a two-month long injury layoff.
“We’ve shown that we’re an adaptable team,” he said.
“Us players don’t care which formation we play with, it doesn’t matter if it’s a three or four-man defence. We just need to stay compact and ensure we don’t concede too many goals.”
“Obviously we have a much better chance at winning when we play this way.”
Smalling will be joined by Gianluca Mancini and Roger Ibanez this evening in defence.
