Only 132 minutes in Serie A so far this season for Roma defender Chris Smalling.
After going down with an injury in the final minutes of a home win against Empoli, the English centre-back is finally hoping to put his physical issues behind him.
According to Leggo, during his consultation in London Smalling was given the green light to increase the workload at Trigoria.
The veteran player is expected to return to group training either tomorrow or Thursday, and should be able to receive a call-up for the match vs Genoa, although it is unlikely that he will feature in the course of the game.
Smalling’s objective is to be given the opportunity to start in Roma’s midweek Conference League fixture against Zorya Luhansk.
