Smalling misses out on tomorrow’s second leg against Shakhtar Donetsk

For the second match in a row, Roma will be without central defender Chris Smalling.

The Englishman is still suffering from a tweaked hamstring and is being held out as a precautionary measure by manager Paulo Fosnseca. The Portuguese tactician is hopeful, though, that Smalling will be available for this Sunday’s league clash against Napoli.

The Giallorossi will also be without midfielder Jordan Veretout and attacker Henrikh Mkhitaryan. The duo are recovering from respective muscle injuries and will likely be unavailable for an additional 2-3 weeks.
