Smalling out for Thursday’s Europa League clash

Roma will not have defender Chris Smalling available for this Thursday’s Europa League match against Young Boys.

The Englishman sprained his left knee early last week during training and was not able to feature in yesterday’s victory over Benevento in the Italian capital.

It’s unknown as to how long the player will be out for as the injury is considered “day to day.” However, following yesterday’s victory, Roma boss Paulo Fonseca even admitted that he was unsure if Smalling would be available for next Monday’s showdown at the San Siro against Milan.

The Giallorossi will also be without Gianluca Mancini for Thursday’s fixture due to suspension.
