Chris Smalling’s return to Roma is now closer than ever.
The several months long saga appears to be coming to a successful conclusion as Sky Sport reports that Manchester United is now open to selling the Englishman and accepting Roma’s latest offer of €15 million.
The defender, reportedly, asked again to Manchester United’s Board of Directors to allow him to leave immediately and join Roma on a permanent deal.
The two clubs have been engaged in negotiations for a number of months and the 30 year-old was growing impatient as he feared the sides may not reach an agreement before the transfer window closes tomorrow.
The Giallorossi are now ‘one step away’ from signing Chris Smalling from the Red Devils pending the sort of the final details.
