Roma are keeping their fingers crossed that injured defender Chris Smalling will be available for the second leg of their Europa League tie against Braga later this month.
Sky Sport reports that the Englishman has already been ruled out by the club’s medical staff for at least the next three matches after he suffered a muscle injury in his left thigh during the victory over Hellas Verona.
Manager Paulo Fonseca will be without the veteran defender for this weekend’s match against Udinese, next Thursday’s first leg against Braga in the Europa League, and the following league match against Benevento on the 21st.
