Chris Smalling’s season debut with the Giallorossi could be delayed after the Englishman suffered an injury during yesterday’s training session.
Roma have confirmed that the 30 year-old has undergone scans, which revealed a slight sprain in his left knee.
The club will monitor Smalling’s progress over the coming days, but he is a serious doubt for Sunday’s league clash in Rome against Pippo Inzaghi’s Benevento side.
The defender will train individually today and will not participate in the full training session with the rest of his teammates.
Smalling officially completed his return to the Giallorossi last week and was one of the candidates to start this weekend against the newly promoted Benevento.
