Roma were back on the training pitch this morning for their final training session before tomorrow’s Europa League fixture against CSKA Sofia.
Central defender Chris Smalling, who has not featured for Roma in over one month, participated in full during today’s session for the second day in a row and appears ready to make his return to the pitch.
The Englishman has been hampered by pain in his left knee ever since he made his move back to the Italian capital in October — an injury that has caused him to miss a total of 8 matches. Tomorrow, though, could be the first time he plays since the Giallorossi’s victory over Genoa in early November.
Roma, who have mathematically already clinched first place for their group, will visit the already-eliminated Bulgarian side tomorrow before facing Bologna this weekend in the league.
