Chris Smalling’s future is still yet to be defined as the player continues being linked with a possible exit from Roma this summer.
The latest report by Il Messaggero claims Chris Smalling’s agent also arrived at St. George’s Park today where Roma continue their preseason training camp.
The two had a conversation shortly before the afternoon session.
After a complicated season full of injuries, the central defender seemed on the verge of having to leave Roma in June, but the offers did not arrive.
The Englishman has a contract until 2025 and his stay in the capital is not certain.
If offers were to arrive from abroad, Roma would not say ‘no’ to a possible transfer involving the 34-year-old. Smalling has a significant salary of 3.5 million euros and his farewell would help the club slash the wage bill and reduce the annual costs.
