Matias Soulé played an excellent match against Real Madrid at the Olimpico, but it wasn’t enough.
The number 18 provided two assists and consistently created a superior attack, but Roma fell behind in the closing stages and Los Blancos came from behind to win the game, tying the score to 3-4.
The Argentine spoke to Amazon Prime Video after the match.
The 2003-born player arrived in disbelief: “I’m speechless. The game was in our hands, we’re losing a game in which we were ahead until the 70th minute. I don’t know what to say, we have to be alert for the entire 90 minutes. Let’s focus on the next one.” He then continued: “Conceding three goals like this isn’t right, we’re dead.”
Soulé urged his teammates to turn the page: “We have to turn the page immediately. We’re disappointed, but we can’t let up. We played a great match, we can’t forget that.”
And the Argentine concluded: “This is the worst defeat, it hurts. To end like this after the game we played… We have to take the good things and build on them.”
