Spal manager Luigi Di Biagio spoke at a press conference today as his side hosts Roma tomorrow in Ferrara. The Biancazzurri have officially been relegated to Serie B for next after having spent the past two seasons in Italy’s top flight.
“The mood has been negative as you’d expect. We haven’t been sleeping much and we’ll do our best to play these last four games with as much dignity as possible,” he said.
“The team remains motivated, we’ve missed our supporters – perhaps that could have been fundamental in our race for survival, but it’s useless to speculate about this”.
“I still think this team hasn’t proven everything they’re capable of for a a variety of reasons. For some reason, when we need to hold tight and not concede a goal, we get frightened. I’m not sure why this is. We need to take responsibility”.
Roma face Spal tomorrow evening at the Stadio Paolo Mazza.
