Spalletti: “Nainggolan will stay.”

Roma manager Luciano Spalletti spoke today to TMW Radio and admitted that while Roma have suffered a blow losing Miralem Pjanic, Radja Nainggolan will stay:

“Pjanic? It’s a simple matter. What is there to say when contract clauses are involved?”

“Now we must keep Nainggolan? We’ve already suffered a blow by losing Pjanic and the injury to Antonio Rüdiger. Roma is a good car but the ‘horses’ must be maintained. However, Radja is a man of his word and he promised me he will stay.”

“Mario Rui? He is a player we have followed for awhile and can be a substitute for Digne, given the difficulties PSG are giving us after he is coming off of a good season. He has shown that he’s a good team player. He has physical flaws but he can make up for them with his character.”

“Borja Valero? He’s a player I like a lot but Fiorentina don’t want to sell him. It’s an impossible operation for us. We want to find an alternative to Florenzi and replace Maicon, Digne, and Rüdiger for various reasons.”
