Roma’s mounting injury crisis worsened yesterday after left wingback, Leonardo Spinazzola, suffered a muscle injury during the victory over Ajax.
The Italian was injured early in the first half against the Dutch side and was forced to abandon the pitch after twenty minutes. Spinazzola indicated to Roma’s medical staff that he pulled a muscle in his left thigh and there’s fears that the injury could keep him out for multiple weeks.
Spinazzola will undergo further examinations when the Giallorossi, who spent the night in Amsterdam after yesterday’s win, return to the Italian capital.
The defender, though, has already been ruled out by manager Paulo Fonseca, who will use Bruno Peres or Riccardo Calafiori in his place.
