What has gone from nearly being official, is now at serious risk of collapsing.
The deal involving Leonardo Spinazzola and Matteo Politano was just moments away from being official yesterday: both players arrived at their new destinations and underwent medicals, which they both passed. Inter, however, wanted to perform extra physical tests on the player beyond the normal scope of a normal medical. In fact, the Nerazzurri even attempted to completely alter the deal from a straight, permanent swap to a loan with an option to buy for Spinazzola.
Sky Sport reports that Roma has rejected both of Inter’s requests and remain firm on the original agreement that was in place. The Giallorossi won’t allow Inter to perform further examinations on Spinazzola and will also not change the formula of the transfer. The sides have been in constant contact throughout the day but if they can not resolve their disagreements, it’s possible the entire operation will collapse.
Meanwhile, Filippo Biafora of Il Tempo reports that tensions are very high between the two clubs right now and that their relations could reach a breaking point.
