Spinazzola returns to Italy following operation, meets with Mourinho

RomaPress Staff

Roma defender Leonardo Spinazzola has returned to the Italian capital following his operation yesterday in Finland.

Accompanied by his wife, Miriam, and Roma’s club doctor, Dott. Massimo Manara — the 28 year-old landed at Ciampino Airport early this afternoon after undergoing surgery to repair his left Achilles tendon.

Before returning home, though, Spinazzola briefly visited Roma’s training center, Trigoria, where he was greeted by an already waiting José Mourinho.

The Portuguese technician wanted to talk with the defender in order to cheer him up and give him motivation as he begins the recovery process. The Giallorossi expect him to miss at least six months of action following the injury, which occurred last Friday.
