Leonardo Spinazzola would like to extend his stay in the Italian capital despite his contract having ran out a few days ago.

The Italian fullback will become a free agent at the end of this month as talks over a new deal with Roma never took off.

The player, however, is still hoping things may turn around for him.

After spending the last five years at Roma, Spinazzola is still pushing to further extend his stay for at least an additional year.

His future remains uncertain as Roma are skeptical regarding his fitness levels and several unconvincing performances over the years.

Spinazzola’s only hope at the moment seems to be Daniele De Rossi, writes Il Tempo.

The Roma head coach seems to be open to the idea of Spinazzola staying: the two share a very positive rapport.
