After sustaining a painful injury in the form of a torn Achilles tendon against Belgium, Spinazzola is back in Rome for check-ups to reveal the extent of the damage to the tendon. According to Sky Sport, Roma have already booked a flight to Finland for tomorrow for the Italian international.

In Turku, a city on the southwest coast of Finland, Spinazzola is to meet with Sakari Orava, a Finnish sports surgeon at the NEO Hospital, a private facility specialized in sports medicine. Here, Orava along with Dr. Lasse Lempainen are scheduled to perform surgery on the wing-back. The timeline for a return will be established following the operation.

Orava has been hailed as a ‘miracle man,’ often cited as one of the leading specialists when it comes to the treatment of tendons. In 2019, he was responsible for performing surgery on Bryan Cristante after the midfielder sustained a tendon tear in his right adductor.
