Roma’s Leonardo Spinazzola warned his side that they will have to be attentive in defence this evening in their European clash against Shakhtar Donetsk.
The two clubs square off in the Italian capital tonight for the first of two legs in the Europa League, their first meeting since 2018.
“We’ve got to be careful tonight, they’re very strong, quick, and can hit you on the counter,” said Spinazzola to Roma TV before kick-off.
“We have to be attentive with our marking.”
He continued, “This is a team that gave both Inter and Real Madrid huge problems, it’s proof of their quality. We know what we have to do this evening. We’ll play our football.”
“No Dzeko or Mayoral? For me, it doesn’t matter who plays in attack. All of the players we have in that role are strong.”
