Despite having lost Tuesday’s Coppa Italia match to Spezia by a scoreline of 4-2, the Sporting Judge of Lega Serie A has handed Roma another automatic 3-0 loss — their second of the season.
The decision became official this afternoon and was the result of the Giallorossi having used one extra substitute in the domestic cup defeat against Vincenzo Italiano’s men.
This marks the second time this season that the club has been handed an automatic loss by the Lega Serie A, with the first coming in September when midfielder Amadou Diawara was mistakenly designated as an Under-23 player in their official team sheet for their match against Verona.
Even though they drew 0-0 with the Venetian side, they were handed an automatic defeat for the administrative error.
