Stadio della Roma, Marcello De Vito arrested

RomaPress – Potentially more delays have arrived on the doorstep of the Stadio della Roma. This morning Marcello De Vito, a member of the 5 Star Movement party and the president of the capital assembly, was arrested at his home and is accused of taking bribes from Luca Parnasi, the former president of real estate developer Eurnova, whom Roma partnered with on the project, however, they later “bought-out” the company’s involvement in the project.

Il Tempo journalist Fernando Magliaro, who has been reporting heavily on the stadium project since its inception, appeared on Rete Sport today to address what this could mean for the club:

“My advice is to wait for communications from the prosecutor before giving any judgment. So far, the stadium project has not been touched by this scandal, but it is a political issue. Obviously the times are getting longer because it is difficult to imagine that in May the variant can be voted on. I don’t know what Pallotta will do”.

So now the club and fans must await new information and updates from prosecutors Barbara Zuin and Luigia Spinelli.
