Milan manager Stefano Pioli was interview ahead of Thursday’s return leg with Roma in the Europa League quarterfinals.

The Italian technician sounded confident in his team’s ability to turn the result from the first leg around.

“In the first leg we didn’t play terribly, many things can be said about the first leg such as the fact that we deserved a draw. That would have been a fair result. Roma were better at the finer details, but we will also make use of them tomorrow to try and win,” he said.

“I said simple things: it is an important challenge, but we must enjoy the moments leading up to it. My players are used to it, the important thing is to give your best on the pitch and that is a certainty with them.”

“Tomorrow Milan can win because they know how to play well, they have talent, character and mentality. And because on a good day Milan can beat anyone.”

“I know my team, it won’t be easy for Roma either because we will give our maximum effort,” he concluded.
