Last night’s victory was not only a remarkable team achievement for Mourinho’s men, but represented a particular milestone in Stephan El Shaarawy’s career.
The Italian attacker completed his 200th appearance for the club across the last seven years with the exception of the two years (2019-21) he spent in China.
Over the listed 200 appearances, the 30-year-old winger scored 50 goals and recorded 29 assists since first joining the capital club in January 2016.
El Shaarawy celebrated the occasion with a post on his social media accounts: “Honored and proud to have reached 200 appearances with these colours!”
“Congratulations to all of us for having qualified for the Europa League playoffs. Now, all focus on the derby!”
