Stephan El Shaarawy comments on Roma’s improved mentality after Verona win

Roma attacker Stephan El Shaarawy sealed last night’s victory with a delightful ball over the Verona goal-keeper in the final minutes at the Stadio Bentegodi. The Italian winger highlighted the importance of sacrifice and mentality in getting crucial results away from home like yesterday in his post-match interviews.

“Our mentality has to always match the mentality of a great team. Those who start the game and those who enter in the second half must always focus on making a difference for the team,” El Sha told Sky Sport.

“We have lots of quality, we create many chances and fail to convert as successfully. We have to improve in that regard,” he added. “But the mentality is the correct one – we always want to make the difference. Those who came in the second half today did very well.”

“I’m glad I was able to acquire a bit more continuity recently, which is what I was missing,” he said in a post-match interview with the club.

“This was a difficult game, but what matters is the victory, which allows us to be sitting fourth in the league table. Tonight we are happy.”
