Stephan El Shaarawy’s future remains uncertain as the player nears the end of his contract with the Giallorossi.
The Roma attacker will become a free agent in June unless the club offer him an extension given El Shaarawy’s attachment to Roma.
According to Retesport, however, the Giallorossi are hesitant in offering a new contract to the 30-year-old winger as the player’s salary currently amounts to €3.5 million and represents the biggest obstacle in any negotiations the club might hold with El Shaarawy’s entourage.
The situations remain unclear, and for now the Italian winger seems destined to leave the club at the end of the season. However, Roma and El Shaarawy are expected to meet in the coming months to clarify their intentions before the summer.
