Roma attacker Stephan El Shaarawy is looking to bounce back after missing the last few weeks of action due to an injury suffered in Roma’s win over Monza. The Italian winger is now reportedly closing in on a return to Mourinho’s squad for the upcoming trip to San Siro.
As Corriere dello Sport suggests, El Shaarawy has recovered from a muscle injury and has been training intensely in order to be back at Mourinho’s disposal as soon as possible. The player is expected to be reintegrated in group training activities in the coming days.
According to the Italian newspaper, El Shaarawy wants to convince both Mourinho and Tiago Pinto to bet on him long-term as his contract is set to expire next summer and the player doesn’t have an option for an additional year unlike Chris Smalling or Nemanja Matic.
